3TbspMelted Butter(Use Vegetable Oil to make this recipe vegan)
1CupVery Hot Water
Notes
In a large bowl, combine your salt and flour
Add in your melted butter and very hot water, stirring to slightly combine
Using your hands (be careful, the dough will be hot), bring the rest of the flour together, then kneed until the flour is fully combined and the dough is soft
Tip - The finished dough will dry out quickly, so always keep it covered in the bowl with a damp paper towel while you work
Pinch off some dough, just a little larger than a golf ball
Place your dough ball between two pieces of parchment paper
Using the palm of your hands, slightly press out the dough into a round, just to get the shape started
With gentle pressure, roll the dough into a thin circle (it's totally okay if you don't get perfect rounds)
Cook each tortilla in a dry skillet on high heat. It should only take a minute or two on each side. The dough will puff up slightly, and this is totally fine - this will create great char marks! Once you get a tortilla on the heat, begin rolling out another dough ball so it's nice and ready to add to the pan, when you're ready - Keeping the remaining dough covered with a damp paper towel.Keep cooked tortillas in a warmer, or just cover them with a kitchen towel to keep them warm and pliable.
