Ingredients

  • 2 cups All Purpose Flour
  • 1 tbsp Granulated Sugar
  • 3 tspn Baking Powder
  • 1 tspn Baking Soda
  • 1 cup Freshly Grated Cheddar Cheese
  • 1 tbsp Everything Bagel Seasoning (plus more for topping)
  • 1 stick Cold Salted Butter
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1 tbsp Freshly Chopped Chives
  • 1 tbsp White Vinegar

Notes

Preheat your oven to 450 and line a baking sheet with parchment paper

*For plain biscuits, omit the spices and cheese. Brush the tops of your biscuits with melted butter after baking

For this recipe, I like to use my food processor to incorporate the butter into the flour, especially when I’m short on time.  However, you can definitely cut the butter into the flour by hand.
  • Using your food processor (or a large mixing bowl if cutting by hand) combine all of your dry ingredients and pulse (or whisk) to combine
  • Cube up your cold butter and add it into the dry ingredients. Pulse or cut in the butter, until you get pea sized pieces
  • Turn the mixture out into a large mixing bowl and add in your chives, seasoning, grated cheddar and vinegar – mix to combine
  • Using a fork, stir the mixture while slowly drizzling in about 3/4 cup of milk
  • If your dough is too dry, add in just a little more milk, making sure to reserve a little to brush on top before baking
  • Once the milk is just combined, turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Gently gather the dough together and tap it down gently until it’s about an inch thick
  • Sprinkle some additional Everything Bagel Seasoning on top of the dough
  • Using a 2″ cutter, cut out each biscuit (make sure not to twist the cutter – just push it straight down into the dough and bring it straight back up)
  • Place each cut biscuit onto your baking tray and brush the tops with your remaining milk before baking

Bake at 450 for 13-15 minutes
