These Flour Tortillas are so easy to make – BONUS, no fancy tools needed! They require just 3 basic ingredients and only take about 20 minutes to make. Trust me…fresh Flour Tortillas are WELL WORTH a little bit of extra effort on your next taco night!
Flour Tortillas
Ingredients
- 2 1/2 Cups All Purpose Flour
- 1 Tspn Kosher Salt
- 3 Tbsp Melted Butter (Use Vegetable Oil to make this recipe vegan)
- 1 Cup Very Hot Water
Notes
- In a large bowl, combine your salt and flour
- Add in your melted butter and very hot water, stirring to slightly combine
- Using your hands (be careful, the dough will be hot), bring the rest of the flour together, then kneed until the flour is fully combined and the dough is soft
- Pinch off some dough, just a little larger than a golf ball
- Place your dough ball between two pieces of parchment paper
- Using the palm of your hands, slightly press out the dough into a round, just to get the shape started
- With gentle pressure, roll the dough into a thin circle (it’s totally okay if you don’t get perfect rounds)
