Fresh Salsa

Nothing beats taco night with Fresh Salsa! You’ll never get the same flavor and textures out of a jar – Plus, Fresh Salsa doesn’t have all of the preservatives and additives that you’ll find in the jarred salsas.

Fun fact:  I am not a tomato fan.  In fact, I don’t like them at all.  I am also HUGE on texture, as is the rest of my family.  However, I find that if I can chop up the tomatoes small enough and add other ingredients, I enjoy them.  Another fun fact: I LOVE this salsa.  Even with tomatoes, there is no other salsa I would eat!  It truly makes such a difference in any mexican style dish and I also love it with just a side of chips!  If you like tomatoes and are not picky about texture, there’s no need to pull out your food processor for this…just chop up the ingredients any size you like and serve it pico de gallo style.

Fresh Salsa

Course: Appetizer, Side Dish
Author: The Mill Town Kitchen

Ingredients

  • 3-4 Tomatoes
  • 1 large White Onion
  • 4-5 cloves Garlic
  • 1 Jalapeno
  • 1 Bunch of Cilantro

Notes

Cut your tomatoes and onions into large chunks.  (I like to do the following in batches, so I can better control the texture.)  Add a handful of tomatoes and a handful of onions into your food processor and pulse until you reach your desired texture.  Remove from your processor and place into a bowl, and start another batch, pulsing your tomatoes and onions.  Once you’ve used them all up, place all of your cilantro, chopped jalapeno and garlic into your processor and let it go until it’s all blended together.  Add this to your tomato and onions and stir thoroughly to combine.  Chill in the fridge before serving.

This salsa is also a fantastic add in to avocado for the most delish guacamole!  Just smash up your avocado however you like.  Add a heaping tablespoon of this Fresh Salsa along with salt and pepper.  So, so good!!
